Camera phone

Every time I see a mobile phone with camera, I get wary. Too many privacy issues these days.

Personally, I don't have one and never intend to get one as I can live without it. Modern phones are able to record videos and photos. Great. So that you can send your fugly face for someone to see? What's the hurry? :-)

Jokes aside, people might claimed that these phones are useful in many ways but so far I have been shown only one single reason; that is to record sex escapades, blow job and up skirt shots. What sick society are we becoming?

The latest furor, if you haven't heard, is about Tammy the cheerleader from a reputable polytechnic school in Singapore. She recorded her sex session with her boyfriend and somehow she lost her phone containing the clip and it conveniently fell into the hand of her archrival. What was she thinking in the first place?

There are many other instances and even Kuching has a few, the latest one apparently is an MMS depicting a couple doing it at the staircases of a building near Khoo Hun Yeang Street. The 2 minute short movie entitled "Saujana" shows the couple believed to be in their early 20's engaging in hot steamy positions. Do not ask me for any, as I don't have them.

Some might lament that camera phone might be useful in emergency situation but I can't think of any yet, except maybe when I need to review my golf swing when it goes hay wired in the middle of my round. But then again, the only time I heard it been used was to take photos of someone doggy styled his girlfriend or mistress behind a golf buggy.

*sigh*

I do not know what to make of this modern contraption but privacy issues need to be solved before things get out of hand. The current law out there is just not suffient enough to protect anyone. So the best thing to do for now, is not to capture what you do not want others to see.

there's pros and cons to camera phones... to you perhaps the cons are more than the pros considering the scenarios that you've pointed out, but to others of whom some where their life have been saved by their camera phones will eventually say that pros are more than cons. There's two sides to a coin...

Yay! to Mahaguru wise and bold views. Google 'handphone in schools' (plural for school, ok) and I am still on page 1. Now there is more reason to say no to handphone in schools.

Someone has to tell Tammy this important message, "God forgives you and we all forgive you for your mistake". Start your life holy and right again. Come to church and this is the place where you find life again. No one will condemn you here and everyone welcomes you because the church is the place where you get to be re-born and live again. God loves you.

Gee... no one should provoke a molester and what to say, taking picture of them!

Car accidents and venue can be reported to a police station even without a camera phone... This is a bit lame, unless anonymous can explain why she/he is trying to substantiate the weak excuses, the comment is going to be deleted, especially when its sending out the wrong message that one ought to take pictures of a potential rapist or wrong doer.

I don't tolerate people calling other people names and degrading others. Commenting anonymously and without any evidence to backup an argument is just too lame and childish. I never said mobile phone is a bad thing. So what gives you the right to judges me or my opinion... mate?
