Telco's Mistake or Scam?
A few weeks ago I received two spam SMS, which I ignored and treated it as one the many annoying free ads. And here is my bill for the month.
I was shocked to see these charges! (see photos below) And I did not even request or reply to the SMS. The gateway number (39444) matches the one found in my earlier post on Chicken Little ringtone scam.
Interestingly, why am I chargeable for SMS that I did not request but received? And how can the mobile operator breach my privacy by divulging my numbers to spamers?
I am in a process of writing a complain letter to show cause, so watch this space!
A friendly reminder to readers and mobile phone users; check your bill(s) and do not take them for granted.
