Commercialization of beauty

Men are visual creatures and women knows it. So does the business for beauty and diet products. Thus, is todays beauty manufactured?

Firstly, lets understand the meaning of beauty. In this context, its commonly associated with the appearance of a person and people see physically attractive people as beautiful. Mainly because mass media uses models to portray a stereotype man-made beauty, which is only at skin level. Facial make over, long legs, curvy body line and the all time attention magnet, the cleavage. With so much publicity, the phrase "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" no longer hold true as the perception of beauty have been pre programmed. Yes, I believed beauty have been manipulated.

Pity, as the victims are women themselves because everyone wants to look 'beautiful'. Plastic surgeons, diet/slimming centers, cosmetic and fashion industries are the few that are benefiting from the multi billion dollars beauty related business.

For ladies that have developed only an eye on physical beauty, they are heading the wrong way. Speaking from a male perspective, no doubt we are creatures that seek aesthetic beauty in women but physical attractions have a time frame. There are other beauty that feeds and strengthens the soul in the same way that beauty does. And perhaps if we develop an eye for meaning in the same way that we develop an eye for beauty we can enrich the life more than anything else.

Beauty.... its still in the eye of the beholder.
